Our Members Really Enjoy Golf

Windyke Country Club is committed to providing a wide assortment of exciting golf tournaments for its members. Windyke has all of the standard country club events such as Member-Member, Member-Guest and many more that one would expect plus other great events unique to Windyke. We provide events that cater to all levels of players within the same event with the use of our handicapping and/or flighting system. The Windyke Board of Directors Handicap Committee ensures accurate and timely posting of all tournament participants to protect the integrity of each event.

Windyke Cup! - “Tournament Points Race”
Up-To-Date Standings

As many of you who played in Men’s night this past year already know, we added a season-long point’s race to last season. This was overwhelmingly popular and allowed for a tremendous increase in excitement and participation each and every week. So after discussing the subject with staff and participants, we have agreed to include this point’s format in all of our regular season tournaments. The main reason for the new twist on our tournament season is to bring that increased energy and excitement to our tournament program.

Each event will be worth a 50-point value for playing with some events garnering additional participation points. Additional points will be awarded to the top 1/3 of participants in each event. We hope that this will make it even more interesting for you to play in each event and even consider ones that you may not have ever participated in previously.

The 2010 season begins in February with the Iron Man and ends with the Dykema Invitational in the fall.

Listed below are a few of the season’s highlights:

Points race to begin with the 2010 Iron Man

Each of these events earn you 50 participation points for your total, regardless of finish place

Each of these events earn you 75 participation points for your total, regardless of finish place

Each of these events earn you 100 participation points for your total, regardless of finish place

***Participants who play in both the men’s and senior club championships will be awarded points only for one of the events***

Finish “in the money” and earn additional points. The winner in each event will receive 100 points and all those who “cash” will receive a lesser amount of points with the totals based on the events participation and format.

Points will be updated after each event and posted in the Clubhouse bar area, the main scoreboard and at Windyke.com

The final point’s event will be the 2010 Dykema in the fall, date pending.

Additionally, men’s night participation points may be earned toward the cup race of 10 points per week played with a maximum of 50 points for the season counting toward the cup race. The last men’s night to count will be September 21. Men’s night will not be altered and will have its own points race exactly the same as in 2009.

The top 20 players in the cup race will receive a bonus gift certificate payout at the year-end champion’s dinner.
